At GreenKey, we’re profoundly grateful to live and work on the unceded land known as Moh’kinsstis to the Blackfoot Confederacy, Wîcîspa to the Îethka Nakoda Nations, Otôskwanihk to the Cree First Nations, and Gutsʼistsʼi to the T'suu T'ina Nation. It is fact that this region was known to Indigenous Peoples for over ten thousand years, long before colonization and that this area was later named Calgary by the North West Mounted Police in 1876.

We recognize that these lands are part of the traditional Treaty 7 territory of the Blackfoot Confederacy, including the Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani Nations, as well as the îethka Nakoda Nations: Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney, and the Tsuut’ina Nation. This place is also home to the Métis people of Districts 5 and 6, part of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government of the Métis Nation within Alberta.

We acknowledge that this land has been cared for by Indigenous Peoples for generations, and that their stories, cultures, and relationships remain deeply rooted in this region today. We are learning what it means to be good guests on this land, and we’re committed to listening, showing up, and growing in our responsibilities to each other and to the communities we serve.
